What is children’s critical illness cover?
Children’s critical illness cover is an optional add-on to a parent’s life or critical illness policy. It provides a lump sum payment if your child is diagnosed with a serious illness that’s covered under the policy — so you can focus entirely on your child without money worries adding to the pressure.
Why does it matter?
As a parent, you’d do absolutely anything for your child. This is one of the most meaningful things you can put in place — not because you expect the worst, but because having that safety net means you’ll never have to choose between being there for your child and keeping the household afloat.
What’s typically included?
• Serious childhood illnesses including certain cancers, heart conditions, and more
• Specified pregnancy complications (varies by insurer)
• Lump sum payment — use it however you need
• Available as an add-on to many adult life and critical illness policies
• No additional medical underwriting required in most cases
📝 Conditions, definitions, and levels of cover vary between providers. We’ll make sure you understand exactly what you’re covered for.
Want to make sure your whole family is protected?
We’ll find the right combination of cover for you, your partner, and your children.
Please note – Children’s Critical Illness & Pregnancy Cover is available as an optional feature of selected protection policies and is not available as a stand-alone product. Any premium payable for this benefit is in addition to the cost of the core protection policy and may be subject to its own terms and conditions.”
