Do I really need insurance if I’m young and healthy?

Being young and healthy is actually the best time to get insurance — because it’s much cheaper when you’re younger and lower risk. Once something changes with your health, it can become harder (and more expensive) to get cover. If you have a mortgage, a family, or anyone who depends on your income, protection isn’t a luxury — it’s one of the most responsible things you can put in place.

Is your advice really free?

Yes, completely. We’re paid a commission by the insurer when a policy is placed — this doesn’t affect your premium or the cover you get. There are no hidden fees, and no obligation to take anything out after a conversation with us.

It depends on your age, health, the type of cover, and how much protection you want. But most people are genuinely surprised by how affordable it is. A basic life insurance policy often costs less than a couple of cups of coffee a month. We always compare the whole market to find the best value for your budget.

Life insurance pays out when you die. Critical illness cover pays out if you’re diagnosed with a serious illness — like cancer, a heart attack, or a stroke — while you’re still alive. They protect against different events, and many people choose to have both. We’ll help you decide what makes sense for you.

Critical illness cover pays a one-off lump sum if you’re diagnosed with a specific serious condition. Income protection pays a regular monthly income if you can’t work — due to any illness or injury, not just a critical one. They work in different ways and often complement each other well.

For straightforward cases, many policies can be arranged within a few days. If a medical questionnaire is needed, it may take a little longer. We handle the process and keep you updated throughout.

Absolutely — and we’d encourage it. Many people are paying for cover that no longer fits their life, or they’re not as protected as they think. A review is completely free and there’s no obligation to change anything.

Absolutely. Income protection is arguably more important if you’re self-employed, because there’s no employer sick pay to fall back on. We regularly help self-employed people find the right cover for their occupation and income structure.

This is where we really earn our place. If you or your family ever need to make a claim, you won’t be doing it alone. We’ll be right there, guiding you through the process and making sure you get what you’re entitled to.

Yes — we advise on key person insurance, relevant life insurance, and executive income protection for limited company directors and business owners. If you run your own business and want to make sure you and your company are properly protected, we’d love to help.
